The Lowdown: Pick from one of fourteen of Castlevania's most beloved good and bad guys and fight it out in gleefully nonsensical 3D duels. Run through 3D recreations of classic Castlevania levels, collect items, and use your special abilities to defeat your enemy. Simple Wii Remote and Nunchuk controls make the game easy to play, and the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection lets you take the battle online.
The Hype: It's the first Castlevania game for the Nintendo Wii!
The Snark: God, where to begin...
New screenshots behind the cut. The Obata designs actually look better in-engine than they do as lineart, but, uh...

It's Card Captor X-Neck vs. Mr. Generic, And Gold Heart McBadHomage is thrown into the mix!
On a lighter note, GameSpy has confirmed Death to be a playable character in the game. w00t.
I was willing to give Judgment the benefit of the doubt, until I saw the pumpkins and stars circling Alucard's head.
Actually, I thought that was kinda cute, but once again in retrospect with Maria CardCaptor, it's just another stollen thing...
Death playable == pretty rad, but he was one of my early guesses. I'm thinking we'll see Soma or Trevor soon enough.
I have to admit, I could almost get over the character designs... almost... until I saw the super moves. Simon's Omniwhip just made me sigh. All the potential awesome supermoves available to the iconic vampire hunter and you make him... whip a dude a lot?
I wonder if they'll do some Ice-Climbers Charelotte(Forgive my bad spelling of names) and Jonathon.
On the bright side, Dracula looks a lot more like himself than I was imagining to be feasible. The cape and the lack of a Jojo's contortionist pose does a lot for the guy.
Simon is still exactly just Light in the closeup, though.
