The Lowdown: Have you ever thought that football video games would be better if the players were cutely super-deformed and could acquire bizarre superpowers? Then do we have a game for you! This seventh iteration of the Backyard Football series retains the seven-on-seven arcade-style gameplay complete with 32 licensed NFL teams. New features include tournament, all-pro, and season play mode complete with stats and standings. You can also expect unlockables, multiplayer play, and a host of other little diversions.

The Hype: Backyard Football's obvious kid appeal makes it sell like crazy, and it seems you can press a disc that does nothing but display error codes and parents will buy it for their kids provided there's no sexual or violent content in the error codes.

The Snark: ... there are football games besides Madden?

A vast multitude of cute and truly bizarre screenshots behind the cut.

They still make N64 games?

Who cares about the graphics! Tiny Tom Brady is adorable!

Many N64 titles are still produced and sold as Wii titles!
