Play Mario Kart Wii with... Jason Priestly?

If you're in New York City, I strongly suggest hauling hinder up to the Nintendo World Store today for the Mario Kart Wii launch party. Aside from the game looking solid and fun, you have a chance to be at ground zero for one of NIntendo's strangest PR stunts.

They've decided the way to make Mario Kart Wii seem more enticing to the crowds is... uh, Jason Priestly. Yeah, the 90210 guy. The logic seems to be that Priestly's hopped careers from acting to racing as of late. From the press release, which I can't find anywhere on Nintendo's sites so Kotaku's repost will have to do:

Priestly rose to fame on Beverly Hills, 90210 and has since become a force in the world of racing. A former driver and race analyst, Priestley now co-owns the Rubicon Race Team, which will race in its first Indianapolis 500 in May.

Anyway, the party starts at 2PM EST and lasts until 6PM. It doesn't sound like Nintendo's going to let you buy copies of the games there, but hey, you've got a chance to lob a blue shell at Jason Priestly, and that's priceless.
