TellTale Brings Strong Bad to WiiWare

On the heels of their long-awaited Sam & Man announcement, TellTale announces another geek icon is coming to Wii... this time via WiiWare. Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People is going to be an episodic WiiWare game series, with TellTale promising five games to be released at the rate of one per month. As for the gameplay, uh, here's the press release info...

Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People is a story-driven series with a comic spin that's undeniably Strong Bad. The player uncovers each episode's comedic plot through character interaction, dialogue-based puzzles, and the use (and abuse) of inventory items. In addition, each episode will be crammed with time-wasters to keep players poking around in the world, including Strong Bad emails to check, prank phone calls to place, and mini-games styled after the arcade games on the Homestarrunner.com website.

Short version: "It's a crazy adventure game!" No word on release date, but I bet we see the first installment before 2008's out.

Also, yes, I am aware of the Strong Bad Wii cartoon. See? Here it is, below, embedded in all of its silly glory. You can stop linking me to it now! That said, I hope the Strong Bad game features a gameplay sequence like the one featured later on in the cartoon.

Man, Telltale's really finding its niche as far as brands go, isn't it? Bone, Sam & Max, now HSR... not titles you'd immediately associate, but when you put them together it kind of makes a nice, cohesive little collection, doesn't it?

I sincerely hope that Bone comes to Wii, too.
