Burglars Steal Seven-Year-Old's Wii

Wii-mania has officially gotten depressing and ridiculous. From the Gloucestershire Echo comes the story of seven-year-old Marshall Davidson, whose home was broken into over the New Year's Eve holiday while he was visiting his grandparents with his mother.

The haul included a PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 2 games, four Nintendo Wii games and an accessories pack, a Bart Simpson controller and two remote control cars.

What jerks.

It's unclear from the article how the thieves knew that Davidson's home had a Wii inside. Still, the end of the article offers sound advice:

Spokeswoman Kate Nelmes said a man had seen someone acting suspiciously in the area at midnight on New Year's Eve. She said people should not put out boxes from presents because thieves would know what was in the house.

I suppose things could be a lot worse for the Davidsons after a burglary, but there's still something insidiously perverse about breaking in to a little kid's home specifically to take his toys right after Christmas.
