EGM Has Nothing Good to Say about Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days

Well, that was unexpected. I'm flipping through the latest EGM after the roomie checks the mail, and I'm reading through their blowout preview of Square-Enix's upcoming titles. Most of it is typical stuff, but the preview blurb for the DS's Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days is amazingly negative. Check this out:

An ambitious multiplayer take on Kingdom Hearts, the oddly named 358/2 Days wasn't nearly as impressive as Birth by Sleep. Square-Enix may simply be asking too much of the humble DS hardware, and the lack of an analog controller hurts, too. Worse, rather than making enemies clever and challenging for four players to take down, the developers simply bumped up their hit points. There's hope for this one, but it definitely needs work.

Ice burn.

On the upside, fans of Square-Enix's may have something to look forward to in their latest original DS IP, Sigma Harmonics. Here's the EGM take on it, and I've got to say I'm pretty interested already. Of course, I also really liked Song Summoner...

An oddball hybrid of Phoenix Wright-style adventure game, RPG, and card battle, Sigma Harmonics follows the adventures of a supernatural detective named Sigma and his flaky priestess pal, Neon. Battles play out through a music-driven card system, and you solve cases by collecting and placing clues. It's different - maybe too different to reach U.S. gamers.

Silly EGM...They have no clue about how good the game is, lol. If you ask me, 358/2 Days is looking real good. Pushing the DS to its limits and such. But they had better say about Birth By Sleep, but who doesn't?

To be fair, they're not the only ones who've said such things about 358/2 days.

Both the handheld Kingdom Hearts are looking like fail anyways...maybe because they seem to revolve around Roxas...a character I HATE!

To be fair, Birth by Sleep does not actually feature Roxas, but Ven, a character who is similar to, but legally distinct from Roxas by virtue of... having a different name.
