Konami Announces Kororinpa 2 at Leipzig

Hooray for Leipzig! Hooray for Konami! Hooray for Hudson! One of my absolute favorite underrated Wii games is getting a sequel thanks to Kororinpa 2. Like the original, it's a game where you guide a marble through a maze using the Wii's motion controls. It sounds simple, it is simple, but mastering it requires tricky reflexes indeed.

The second game has more of a plot, as the character is helping an ant character named Anthony roll balls through mazes to find a magical sunflower seed (sure, whatever). The game is set to feature 100 stages, with 10 of them supporting the Wii Balance Board. Stages proceed through at least five themed worlds (House, Deserts, Water, Snow, and Space) where players must both complete the maze and find "junk parts", which are later assembled into the game's 100 edit parts. You can use edit parts in edit mode to create your own stages, which you can share with other players via WiiConnect 24. There will also be a new multiplayer mode where multiple players can race to the end (of the race).

Check behind the cut for the trailer, twenty screens, and plenty of artwork.
