EA Announces MotionPlus Tennis Game at Leipzig

Looks like Peter Moore meant it when he promised more Wii support from Electronic Arts. At this year's EA Leipzig press conference, Moore announced the launch of a new, untitled tennis game franchise in 2009. EA's tennis is set to lead on Wii, where the game will be one of the first third-party titles to ship with full MotionPlus support. Aside from this, we don't know much else about it, but here are Moore's remarks from the press conference as reported by CVG:

"As we look to expand the EA Sports brand and captivate sports fans from around the world with rich new interactive experiences, it was obvious that the renaissance we're seeing in the sport of tennis provides us with a big opportunity," said Peter Moore, president of EA Sports.

"Our new tennis franchise, coming first to the Wii, will put fans right into the action and provide the excitement, tension and drama that true champions feel in legendary matches - like the classic from Wimbledon just last month."

So EA and Ubisoft are making games that use the Wii Motion Plus...to me, it almost seems as if they did know about the peripheral...
